Suction Strainers are used to provide dependable protection for pumps and equipment. Ron-Vik offers a wide variety of suction strainers. The bases of the suction strainers are available in Nylon or Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). The standard mesh used is type 304 stainless steel material in a variety of mesh counts.
The injection molded nylon base is either bonded to the wire mesh using an adhesive or by induction welding. Some of the many markets nylon suction strainers are used for include hydraulic systems, paint spraying equipment, and chemical handling equipment. In general, we rate our nylon based suction strainers at a maximum temperature of 200 Degrees F. The chart below lists our current options for the connection style and mesh. The standard base material is black.

Common applications for PVC suction strainers include pool and spa equipment, water softeners, floor cleaning machinery, pressure washers and car wash equipment. In general, we rate our PVC based suctioners at a maximum temperature of 120 Degrees F. The chart below lists our current connection types and stainless steel mesh counts available.

We recently expanded our line of tank strainers to offer them as a standard product. They are used in many applications where a higher capacity suction strainer is required. They are sometimes referred to as sump strainer. Our tank strainers have injection molded black bases with type 304 stainless steel mesh used for the filtering media. Our maximum temperature rating is 185 degrees F. Some are offered with pleated mesh to allow even greater filtering area. They are a great alternative for applications requiring a higher capacity suction strainer.
